Learning Objectives: list several objectives that address barbershop management knowledge and skill targets…what you would like to know and would like to do as a result of this internship experience.

1. A barbershop can provide variety of services, so depending on barbershop location, competitors and customer segement, I will decide the services and skill set. Hence as an internship experience I will study the customer segment, what is their requirement, is the barber shop equiped with those requirement or not?

2. As a operation management under internship I will study and prepare supply chain cycle diagram or snap shot of the barber shop. To eloborate further who all are the suppliers for barbershop i.e. the product that barber shop is consuming is being supplied by whom

3. I will study the inventory cycle of the barber shop, is the shop storing products much more or it is closer to just in time

4. What is the customer service cycle time, how many customer barbershop handles in one day. What is the time of customer entry, his waiting time and his exit time. Do we take the feedback from customer after service is over?

5. What about my workers and skill development, do the service provider at barbershop getting trained into new services, what is their learning curve? means do my service provider cycle time is getting improved or not with time I will study about cycle time.

1. Observation the activities at barbershop would be first task, understanding their business cycle

2. I would prepare a detail questionnaire to record all the data and study the response

3. I will interact with customers and will understand their expectations and feedback

4. I will interact with suppliers of products at barbershop, I will interact with the owner and purcharser at barbershop

5. I will interact with employees at barbershop and understand their need, experience and future

How will you measure progress toward these goals?

1. Detail planning and scheduling of the activities step wise and deciding the time frame for each step. This is baseline planning

2. After baseline planning is done, I will record the actual progress

3. What is slag time, whether I am behind the schedule or ahead of schedule will be recorded

How will you measure whether you have achieved these goals at the end of your internship?

1. I will share my report with various stakeholders of barbershop and get their feedback. I will get the feedback on my internship report from the owner of barbershop, customers, suppliers, employees, etc.

2. I will compare my own expectation before starting of the intership with what I achieved, what are my learnings, how could I have done better, what were my mistakes, what were my hurdles? I will record and will evaluate it

3. I will seek feedback from professor on the internship report,

4. I will give a detail presentation to other students for 30 minutes or more and get the feedback on what I have done and whether I have achieved the goal or not?
