The top two opportunities for the company are:
- Diversification of products- As people are becoming more choosy and have variety of options for fast food available in market, they want to try out new food items every time they are out for their meals. Supplying the same kind of menu can be monotonous and less attractive for the customers. But instead if the product line is diversified then the company can create new customers and sustain its old customers to higher level. Being a big brand name and financially strong and stable company, Burger King has a lot of scope to include new products in its menu and gain profits.
- Market development- Globalization and expanding business to new dimensions is the new trend of growing business. The more the branches, the more scope of creating new customers. Fast food is something that is highly demanded in the market and customers for it are emerging more and more gradually. Hence market expansions in this business cannot be a failure for the company and will infact be a profitable venture. Identifying new markets with high opportunities and setting outlets to expand business is the strategy Burger King can use to grow its business in the coming years.
The top two threats the company can face are:
- Agresseive Competition- At present companies like McDonald's and Wendy's give tough competition to the company. They have to keep trying strategies and innovative ideas to sustain customers and attract new customers to prefer them before their competitors. Supplying the same kind of product these companies have given tough competition to Burger King and out to do the same in future. Infact new brands with small investments and thus low price products of the same product line are also emerging in market and effecting the market of the company.
- Health consciousness- People are becoming more health conscious and avoid the intake of juke food which is the core supply of the company. Such awareness in people can effect the business adversly as customers will refrain from visiting such places that provide only unhealthy food. Health awareness is spreading rapidly amoung adults, youngsters and even kids and with that awareness they gain the knowledge about what food is healthy and best to intake. In such case the business of such companies that provide tasty yet unhealthy foods can be effected adversely.
