Question

Question of 17 13 Consider the hypothetical serine protease below, which shows the specificity pockets. The S1 pocket ha glutamic acid in the bottom, the S2 pocket is small and hydrophobic. and the Si pocket is deep and s Mapd c. S st a 3 amino acid sequence that this protease would cleave and indicate between which tes the peptide bond would be broken. S1 Rs H St Which of the following sequences would this protease cleave? O Arg-Gly-le O Arg-lle-Gly O Gly-Arg- lle O lle-Gly-Arg O Gly-Ile-Arg O lle-Arg-Gly below.. The peptide bond that is broken is between... O S2 and S

Explanation / Answer

I believa the correct option to be C) Gly-Arg-Ile as the first site s2 needs a hydrophobic small aminoacid such as glucine, second site s1 have glutamic acid that have a negatively charged side chain so needs a possitively charged amino acid at ph=7 such as arginine, and third site s1' needs a hydrophobic big amino acid such as isoleucine.
