GLOBAL STAFFING

In the current corporate world, there is the trend whereby most of the organizations are expanding the scope of their operations to the international scale of operations. In the light of this, the various operational activities of an organization are nolonger centres at just one location; they are evenly distributed among the various parts of the globe where the companies are operating. Due to the expansion by the multinational companies, there is the consideration of the diversity of the characteristics that are attributed to the various areas where the company operates. With regard to this, t calls for the company to undertake various procedures that are meant to create a better stewardship for their company interests in order to effectively achieve their goals in the various locations top where they have expanded. This is very common with multinational corporations which are characterized by growth in their scale of operations in the world through expanding their operations to new markets across the world.

In this context, My Multinational Corporation is expanding its operations to South America; this will be characterized by change in the manner in which people conduct themselves in that location; since it is composed of people that are different from the other settings in which the company is located. In the new location where the multinational corporation has expanded, there is the major consideration that which will be the staffing role of the organization. This is the practice by an organization that is responsible for acquiring employees with the right skills, inducting them in the organization and assigning them roles that are consistent with their abilities which will have the effect of helping the organization achieve its operational objectives in the new location. This is because, human resource is one of the most significant part of an organization as it is the one that is responsible for carrying out the various duties that the organization must achieve.

In managing the staff in the organization, I will consider various types of staffing methods for the various groups of the organization in that location; the top management, middle level and other employees in the organization. Withy consideration to the top management, I will use the global staffing approach; which entails a blending of the skills of people from various parts of the world in order to fit into the organization. In the light of this, the organization will ensure the top management is conversant with the activities that go in the global scale of operations; which will have the effect of improving their efficiency as well as promoting a wide variety of skills in the event that an employee can be transferred from one global location to another and they fit in very well due to the nature of staffing approach adopted for the top management. This is because the organizations top management interacts with people from various locations; thus, skills that are not limited to any kind of boundaries is essential for the top management. Considering the middle level employees in the organization, I will consider the ethnocentric staffing model. This is because the employees in this level are closer to the activities going on in the various specific locations; thus, it will have the positive effect of a better understanding of the activities going on in the various nations; which will promote effectiveness in their working. This is because under this model, the employees have got a better understanding of the nature of operations in the region that they are working. Regarding the other employees, I will consider the use of the polycentric approach of staffing due to the reason that in this approach, the various branches of the multinational corporation are treated as separate entities; meaning that the undertaking of activities is different in each setting. This is the best approach for this type of employees due to the fact that they are lower in the hierarchy of command, and are closer to the operational activities in the organization. Thus, it is evident that the nature of staffing in the new location will have the effect of steering growth in the corporation.
