Question

1. Read the following scenario and answer the question in 5-10 sentences.

You are the owner of a small business that is a defendant in a lawsuit in federal court. You received bad news from your lawyer that the judge did not allow certain documents to be admitted as evidence in court and that the jury reached a $50,000 verdict in favor of the plaintiff. Your lawyer tells you that it is within your legal right to hire him to file an appeal with the United States Court of Appeals. If the appellate court rules in your favor, you may be able to avoid paying part or all of the $50,000. Evaluate your lawyer’s suggestion about appealing the decision.

Explanation / Answer

Explanation:

Suppose if the United States Court of Appeals allows to present the documents as solid evidence than it would be better to appeal in that court that makes easy to get free from paying $50000. Federal court has told to pay the money and if we don't appeal to Court of appeal we have to pay that money so it will be better to appeal to in U.S. Court of Appeal in hope that judgement get revers than we just have to pay for lawyer's fee and if we dont get judgement we have to pay it both as Federal court already told us to pay money becuase they did not let us present evidence documents. In a one way or another we have to pay the money than why not try to appeal in Appeals Court.
