Explanation / Answer

Answer 4: Merger and acquisition are strategies related to expansion of business. These two can be referred as the process of combining the two segments or companies having strategic fit. The main reason for a merger and acquisition is to gain access to knowledge of the acquired company and to transfer that knowledge, increase the revenues and gain competitive advantage by combining the operations.

However, this acquisition and mergers often fail because companies fail to take the relevant stakeholders of the acquired company into confidence. The given statement emphasizes the importance of stakeholders during acquisitions and mergers.

Companies seeking to enjoy the fruits of acquisition must focus on gaining the confidence of the stakeholders by removing the dilemmas. This may involve clearly communicating and resolving all issues or asking providing them a path about what company seek to achieve and what is there for them in this.

Answer:

The new ledership wants only fierce creatures to be the part of zoo so that it can attract more visitors. Other animals must be removed for this. The conflicts resulting from this dictate arise from the facts like fears of job losses or the reluctance to accept the change and mould oneself according to the needs of the new role. To prevent the new changes to be implemented, employees play lot of pranks like faking injuries and make the manager to kill cute animals.

The conflicts could have been managed by discussing the changes to be implemented beforehand with the employees, and resolving their fears and apprehensions, and at the same time listening to their issues and finding solutions of the same. They must have been convinced of the change instead of forcing it upon them. They could have been trained in their new roles, as they were trained previously, when they started work. There should also have been sufficient motivation for the new job.

Thanks.
