1.Group supervision: formal and informal: Under a formal group supervision, since it is created with a formal authority, the supervision is more definite with purpose which is pre-define purpose. The supervision is to oversee whether the subordinates are meeting on a regular basis, especially in case of permanent groups, in order to discuss the general and specific issues that are concerned with the achievement of purpose for which such a group is formed.

On the other hand, since the emergence of the informal group is rather more naturally, there is lack of rigidity when it comes to authority and rules. Here the supervision is given to the leader that formulate certain rules which are not formalized in nature. The supervisions is done by such a leader who stand out owing to the technical expertise or seniority that helps taking decisions or maintaining an order, concerned with the purpose of the group.

2.Teams of work vs. Working Groups: Working groups are such groups where two or more people come together with the view to share information or knowledge with each other and to understand each other’s perspective. The individual goals are here focused upon with define roles assigned to such individuals who form member in the working group. All the purpose or goals so formulated are designed by the managers.
