When starting a project, why would a project charter, as described in the PMBOK® Guide Develop Project Charter Process of the Initiating Process Group, be important?
It is important that the Process group initiate the Project Charter Process as the Project Charter will comprise of all the important authorizations that are required to start the Process Group, it comprises of the appointment of the stake holders to the process of choosing the managers. The project charter process starts with laying down the objectives as to why the project was initiated and the scope of the project as well. The process group lays down all the expectation and the requirements that are necessary for the project. While laying down the charter the following things are important to keep in mind:
· Justification of the project and the purpose of the project:
The charter needs to define the reason why the study has been undertaken, the parameters that the project will cover and of there is a proposed solution then the justification for how the solution is the best for the narrated problem.
· Project Objective and Success Criteria:
The charter details the objectives of the study, the crucial decision that will be taken while the study of the project.
· Assumption and Constraints:
The assumptions that will be made for the project, as they play important role to suggest the projects direction and the course of the study and also defining the constraints or limitations of the study of the project.
· Schedule the budget:
The study encompasses expenditure it is important for the charter to clarify the budget that will be spent on the project for conducting the study.
· List of the stakeholders:
The study should note down all the people the study will effect these people will be the stakeholders for the project.
· Assign the Project Manager:
It is important to assign a project manager responsible for the study and keep the project in the required direction. The person responsible for the time to time reviews of the project and keep it in the direction.

The purpose of the scope statement during defining the scope process for planning the project is that it defines all the variable that are going to be used in the project. The scope defines the lifecycle of the project to which it belongs, and also defines the stages to come as the project progresses. The scope contains the plan, the design and implementation of the project. A good scope statement comprises of the following
Justification: The scope needs to explained it has to be the brief statement that defines the project.
Product scope description: The result of the project also needs to be summarized.
Project Exclusions: Statements about what the project will not accomplish or produce is important the study should not coincide with other areas of the research.

The scope of the project needs to explain the project in a short form; it is the definition of the project as a whole and for should be sufficient enough for explaining the whole project to everyone. The scope defines the key parameters, the methodology that will be used to measure and track the status of the project. The schedules, the budget and also define the risks and milestones for the project. The scope includes the initiation of the project the gathering of the data, the planning required for the project, the method of research and gathering of the data the designing of measuring parameters and defining of the milestones as the project reaches it.

The project life cycle defines the phases that connect the beginning of a project to the end of the project. Within each project life cycle phase, the PMBOK® Guide introduces a process standard which can be applied to most projects, most of the time. It is built upon the principle that projects are unique endeavors, and therefore how you accomplish the processes and define the life cycle depends on the requirements and conditions of the project.
The transition from one phase to the next generally involves the completion of a set of specific activities or some kind of technical delivery or handoff.
