Explanation / Answer
The company I made my research was Starbucks, I admire this company because of the great products they sell and because their stores are places where people can connect with others who share the same passion for love. Also, Starbucks is one of the few companies that during the recession US faced a couple of years ago was still able to be profitable and offer employment to thousands of people all over the world.
On the sustainability side Starbucks has provided a new approach to ethical sourcing making sure this impacts on a positive way to coffee farmers and their communities, this includes: responsible purchasing practices, farmer support, and environmental standards for suppliers and community development programs.
The coffer that Starbucks uses comes from mainly developing countries and this helps such countries by fostering price stability and creating beneficial relationships with suppliers.
Another important actions Starbucks has made is related to their stores: buildings more energy efficient, conversing water and investing on renewable energy.
Starbucks encourage their customers to bring their own mug, they even provide a discount to those who bring their own, and this way the company saves cups which come mostly from trees.
