At my previous place of employment(a game design company) I had the privilege to work under one of my mentors as the assistant manager on a project which could easily be considered as being the most challenging project for the entire firm till date. The firm was contracted to provide the art and music element for a game another firm was building and had decided to outsource the work.
The project was an ambitious one for our firm due to several reasons, first, it was based on ideas of another, which itself presented challenges due to the fact that each design decision had to be sent over back and forth. Second, the entire schedule was almost unrealistic due to pressed dates and the amount of work that had to be done. Luckily, due to the presence of a motivated team, we were able to pull through the project. The team was underhanded most of the times but the synergy with which everybody worked allowed us the ability to complete the project with a minimum budget. Everybody communicated with each other directly, the management just had to maintain the schedules and only occasionally intervene in the team's working. I was also personally involved with the music team which had the hardest tasks out of all the elements of that project.
This project allowed me to understand the value between good communication, great management as well as client relationship which I have tried to utilize at my current place of employment as much as I possibly can.
