Question
Management at a bank tasked a security administrator with setting up a secure wireless network. Wireless encryption must be the strongest type of encryption available. These wireless devices will be handling financial transaction data For security reasons, the administrator wishes to prevent authenticated wireless devices from eavesdropping on other devices sharing the wireless network. Which of the following network standards would BEST meet these requirements WPA2 Enterprise WPA with a TKIP passphrase WEP with a 24-bd initialization vector WPA2 with an AES passphrase EAP over LAN O C O D.Explanation / Answer
Since the required network is a wireless on the EAP over LAN is ruled out, even though it is a secure method to connect.
The encryption type of the wireless network should be strong which rules out the WEP network and WPA with TKIP passphrase since they both are weak in security and can easily be got access to.
WPA2 enterprise and WPA2 with an AES passphrase are both strong but since the network shouldn’t allow eavesdropping the WPA2 enterprise should be used as it provides a different PMK key for different user and it changes every session/association will makes other users impossible to eavesdrop through the network . So it provides a better security than WPA2 with AES as it will have the same PMK key for all the users.
So I choose A. WPA2 Enterprise.
