The reason that physical education is being cut in spite of the success of the Sparks program is that schools felt that students need more time to focus on subjects such as Maths, Language studies and that devoting time to physical education will not enable students to find time for these subjects. So it was a concern that students might not be able to perform better academically which led to the curtailment of time for physical education.

Few solutions which can help to optimize the time devoted to academic subjects and physical education are

1. Use of interactive learning tools which can help the students gather the concepts faster thus freeing time for them to play and indulge in physical education.

2. Better scheduling and structuring of the syllabus to enable students to focus on academics without losing out on exercise.

3. Establishing good facilities within schools and thus saving students commute time which they can use to learn academics and also physical education.
