One measure used to describe maintainability is the mean time to restore service (MTRS). When calculating MTRS, the failure time is called the downtime. Then the service operated fine for 7 weeks after that, failing on the following Wednesday at 4:28 PM. The second time the service was restored later the same day at 8:47 PM. What is the MTRS for the service during the 8 week period that includes both incidents of downtime? Show your work and report your answer in hours rounded to 2 decimal places.

Mean Time to Restore Service , is the time taken to get the service restored in IT after a failure has been occured.

MTRS = Total Number of hours of downtime/Number of failure

= ((10:18 AM - 2:33 PM) + (4:28PM - 8:47 PM) /2

= (4.35 + 4.21)/2

= (8.56)/2

= 4.28 hrs.
