Question
What are some of the situations where an organization should select an agile project management approach? Are there any pitfalls to using agile approach? Would you be concerned about using agile approach in any of these situations:
1) a well specified IT project with a strict timeline and requirements that cannot change,
2) a pilot of new technology that the organization would like to introduce throughout the entire organization in the next 6-9 months, or
3) a medium size enhancement to an existing system that can be implemented by a small team in 3 months? The team is very familiar with the existing system code and has a pretty good idea of the work needed for the enhancement.
