Explanation / Answer

While working for a shipping giant,we used to get thousands of bookings in a day. A significant number of these bookings were done over phone or via emails. The share of online bookings was less because consumers didn't understand the whole procedure and needed assistance in between to fill the online form or prefered the old method i.e. bookings through emails or over calls. This resulted in a lot of man hours wastage.

One technology which increased the online bookings significantly was the introduction of Chatbots. This  virtual customer service agent was able to assist the customers to do online bookings in much more easier way. It was able to answer most of the customer queries and resulted in a massive drop in phone queries(Around 40%).The share of online bookings also increased from 40% to 70% which in turn resulted in a significant decrease in company costs and a massive increase in booking process efficency.
