The employees and the outcomes valences are quite favorable for supporting strong performance. However employees seem to have a low E-P expectancy. E-P expectancy deals with the effort and performance expectancy that remains low in the employees, even if the organization brings best efforts and incentives to reward the employees. These initiatives improve the motivation level among the employees, but E-P expectancy remains low and efforts of the organization, don’t give best results. It happens, because efforts and performance are driven by the personality type, the knowledge and skills owned by the employees and the past experience as proposed by the Vroom’s expectancy theory. It is the major reason, that employees are unable to deliver the effort because they lack the personality, knowledge and skills to do so and they E-P expectancy remains low.

A company can do the following to address this concern.

1. Align jobs with the personality types so that personality type will help achieve the job responsibilities   

2. Provide regular training and skill based ability building so that employees are equipped with the abilities to work at a higher level if they want to do so.

3. Bring experience in the team that can help young or inexperienced members to succeed in their efforts and they remain motivated.
