Question

Next, describe your experiences with setting up a computer network, including experiences at home as well as in the workplace.

If you do not have any experience building a network, write instead about your experiences using a network. This may range from using social media on a laptop or phone to sending a print job for a course assignment or for work. You may connect to a network at home, at a coffee shop, at the airport, at work, or myriad other places.

You may want to even trace your connections to networks during the span of one to three days. It can be surprising to find how much of our experience is networked these days. This will also suggest why this course is so important.

Explanation / Answer

I had an experince in settting up a network when I trained in technical module of SAP ERP Landscape. As part of my training we had given a task of building a SAP network that comprises three systems. The three systems we named as Development, Qulaity and Production.

We have to interconnect these systems using network functionalities. Firstly, we configured router and gave it a seured ID and password. We configured router connections in individual systems and made sure that every system is able to connect to the network. To have secured connections we configured firewall in router.

Secured connection is established between systems and router when each IP address of individual system is configured with router. This enables router to reject connections that comes from extrenal systems. Antivirus on each system is installed and configured with network to lock and unlock ports and also to controll applications.
