1. What are some challenges in working with mobile devices as it pertains to computer forensics?

Challenges faced with mobile devices:

1. Hardware differences and Operating systems - Market today is flooded with variety of devices based on size, hardware, features and the operating system they are using. each operating system has number of version, hence at times it is difficult for the forensic investigator to crack all in the limited time span.

2. Most of mobile devices comes with strong encryption mechanism to keep users safe and secures. Hence breaking through all the encryption to extract data is another challenge.

3. Right tool for the device - with the variety of devices available in the market it happens that many a time’s forensic tool is not compatible with the device.

I find Data recovery and evidence extraction the most interesting part of computer forensics. Data recovery is the extraction of data from storage devices which may or may not be damaged. Extracting data from those devices and using it as a part of evidence in court sounds most interesting to me. This itself is a challenging work where you need to analyze the case and then look into the extracted data and find the evidence which can be used against and presented in the court.
