Enterprise Information Technology Services (EITS) is the central IT department at the University of GA.

Change Management. EITS has put in place some very effective measures regarding processes, procedures, standards, and communication with respect to changes to production systems at UGA, including use of the status page. It was only a year ago that EITS was experiencing an outage of a major campus service at least once per month; today, they have reduced that to once per quarter, if not better – and this can be linked to their use of better change management practices

Change Management:-

A Systematic Approach which deals with the change regarding the Organization/Corporation/Individual is known as Change management.

The change can be done in anything for example:-

1) Procedure

2) Process

3) Policies

4) Technologies

So the effective approach to decide how to and where and when to roll out changes also with the help of which tools/technology to roll out these changes is where the change management comes into picture.

Also one important activity of change management is to manage report and providing the management information whenever required (It can be in the form of manual or help guide also).

In Case of University of GA they have EITS i.e (ENTERPRISE INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SERVICES) which is central IT department of UGA. Since every system is likely the IT department of UGA had also production changes recently.

That change also included the use of STATUS PAGE of the web portal of UGA.

When a production change happens there set of things which also needs to be change according with the system change .Same case applied here also which changed the following things:-

1) Processes

2) Procedures

3) Standards

4) Communication

It was till last year i.e 2016 the change used to happen once in a month but now the IT department has decided it to do it once in every quarter so that the users does not have to bear the change on regular basis because it takes time to cope up with the new changes as well. Also it requires time to learn about the changes.
