Question
VoLTE (Voice over LTE) is originally based on the GSMA profile technology for voice and SMS in LTE (GSMA, 2014). Its first appearance was in South Korea in late 2012. Since then, different Mobile network operators around the world have started the use of this technology though launching different commercial VoLTE services for both voice and video. “VoLTE call quality can also be maintained even in scenarios with high data traffic load through the built-in QoS mechanisms” (Ericsson, 2014).
From the development from 3G to 4G, do you think voice service has also developed? If yes, what technologies have been used to achieve such development?

Explanation / Answer
Answer) With the eveolution in time, the technologies have changed much and the best example one can see is the evolution in the mobile network from the 2g network to the 4g. The use of 4g network has changed the whole mobile world. Now everything is just under our fingertips from the instant voice/video calls to instant messages.
With the development in the technology i.e. 4g (VOICE OVER LTE), the voice calls quality has also increased. They are also known as HD voice calls, as the voice is very clearly audible with almost zero distortions. The tchnology used in 4g is little bit better and different than the ones used in the earlier generations. The bandwidth acquired is more in 4g as it serves very high data transmission speeds. The 4g technology makes use of the concatenated codes, the packet swiching along with the message switching is used. The entire transmitted data is converted into packets which are than transmitted through some medium and later on are shared by more than one simultaneous communication session.
