1) The computer world is a dangerous place. We have reviewed BIA, BCP, DRP, and CIRT. All of these planning tools are used to mitigate risk. Some of these processes overlap, and in some cases, they are subparts of the larger plan. Explain for the following events, which planning tool would be the best one to address the event and minimize the risk in the future:

b. Tsunami in Northeastern Japan
c. Disruption of Amazon Cloud Servers
d. Hacking into SONY databases
e. Physical Intrusion of SEALS into Pakistan hideout
f. Con Ed brownouts over this coming summer months

In the world of computer, data or information is not secure or we can say it is secure till the danger didn’t happen to it. All of the mentioned planning tools are used to mitigate risk such as BIA (Business Impact Analysis), BCP (Business Continuity Plans), DRP (Disaster Recovery Plans), and CIRT (Computer Incident Report Team). Some of these processes overlap, and in some cases, they are subparts of the larger plan. We do the things in order to improve the security but it is still vulnerable to risks.
BIA (Business Impact Analysis)- It is a systematic process to analyses and evaluate the effects of interruption to critical business operations which happened after any natural calamity such as disaster, emergency, accident etc.
BCP (Business Continuity Plans) – This approach helps in restoration of the computer system with the attended software’s and it provide the full functionality under the damage or external interface which business faces in the passage of time.
DRP (Disaster Recovery Plans)- These are the comprehensive set of comprehensive action which has to be taken before, during and after the disruptions causes the loss of the availability of the information systems. Its main objective is to provide the alternate processing site and return to the site which was disrupted within the minimum time frame.
CIRT (Computer Incident Response Team) – It is a group of people or team who are specialist in their work that handles events which involves security breaches. These events may occur unexpectedly.
The following events to be address the event and minimize the risk in the future by the mentioned tools which are best suitable are given below:
This is because it happens to the business in the passage of time so it can be handled with the BCP, which first analyze it and then restore the system to the attended software and provide full functionality under damage.
The Tsunami in Northeastern Japan is the natural calamity so we need to have the DRP as well as BIA tools. BIA analyze and evaluate the intrusion to the critical business in case of the any natural calamity happen. DRP is the tool which takes the corrective measures before the disruption happen.
This is used because we need to continue the process of the business as well as risk has to be minimized. IT is done by the BCP tool. It restores the system with the attended software and provide the full functionality too.
Hacking is the process of getting unauthorized access to the computer systems and control over the networks security systems. So, it is done by the advanced or specialist in that field. Hence, it has been finding out with the help of CIRT.
It is the physical disruption caused by any country over the other country. It is unplanned incident or accident, so, BIA can be used to recover it.
It is kind of incident which happen in the coming summer month so we have to more careful before it happens. As it is an incident and the recovery should be prior to the incident so we need to have the DRP tool to work on this situation.
