Project is a temporary task undertaken to create a unique product or services. Example - Building bridge. Project management is used to meet the project requirement by application of knowledge, skills, tool and techniques. Project manager is responsible for the completion of the project.
Projects are uncertain in nature because of the three factors, cost goal, time and scope. Some project may take more time to complete than other. Some project may require large investment and resources than others. Hence projects are uncertain in nature. Every project is unique because they have different goals. Different project goals require different teams and expertise. Hence, professional project manager focus on only one project at a time.
A successful project is the one which is carried out effectively keeping the five project aspects in mind. The project success depends on five factors. and project manager plays important role in managing these five factors effectively.
