i) Global warming and pollution is on a rise and we all are aware of the dangers posed by it including rising sea levels and melting polar ice. However, what stands an important aspect of a modern lifestyle is convenient ways to transport.
As we enter 2018, global powers have put their weight behind renewable energy and incentivizing greener methods to transport. The way forward is to reduce pollution and consider electric vehicles for our commute.
Taking the advantage of initiatives of governments worldwide to adopt green technology, including subsidies and encouragement in many other ways, it is expected that more aware citizens globally will adopt green technology including but not limited to electric vehicles.
I would like to introduce a company which will manufacture and sell electric cars in coming times.
ii) Name ElectroV cars
a) Objective - Produce and sell electric cars
b) Benefits - Green environment, less pollution, sustainable environment, business to profit as a early entrant in the segment
c) Affect- Competition to existing players like Tesla, Honda, GM etc. and entering before other oil fuelled car companies into the market means more adoption and a better market share in the cars business. If do well, may become a leader soon.
d) Alternatives immediate are Tesla, Honda etc. and overall are many like Honda, GM, Audi, BMW,Suzuki, nIssan etc.
iii) Feasibility- a) Available solution- Will help reduce emmissions and increase adoption of green tech.
b) Available technology- Technology for electric vehicles is becoming affordable these days which will drive a price war soon and superfast charging technology is becoming faster and more affordable these days. Only these can be the bottlenecks in this field and with technology improvement this is getting better. Charging stations along major roads and highways are also incresing which will just encourage adoption. The company will require to have a set of such stations of its own and infrastructure also.
c) Yes as awareness is increasing it is being adopted easily for e.g. Nordic countries like Norway, Sweden, Denmark are making a quick transition in this area. Minimal traning is required which can be demonstrated by sales persons on new booking or purchase.
d) Benefits for environment are numerous. For the business as technology is getting cheaper it will only reduce production cost over the time and the learning curve will help reduce costs and inefficiencies. Expectation of business is really high as demands are restricted at the moment only because of availability and as it increase demand are believed to increase exponentially.
