Question
Unlike large organizations, small organizations have been less active in integrating information technologies into their business operations. For example, some of the larger airliners use online information technologies to allow passengers to make reservation, buy a ticket, reserve a seat, check in, and even print their boarding passes online before they get to the airport.
•Using the airlines example mentioned above, propose several possible IT solutions and how they would benefit a smaller airline to become more successful or attract more clients?
•Tell us if the availability of information technology services has influenced your decision to travel on a particular airline. What airline was it?
Explanation / Answer
1. Small Airlines companies generally do not take proper benifit of IT in their regular operations, due to this they do not get more profits. But if they start utilizing IT in their work then their company as wel as customers can get a lot of benefits. Since they do not provide online booking they are suppose to get only the bookings of their flights on their counter or outlets but the customer cannot book always by moving to their outlets. If only booking system is made initially online then the company can double their profits and thus can attract more customers.
IT has made any comman person to travel through airlines so I did it. Perticularly I am influenced by the services provided by Jet Airways services because I got all the support Online from booking to printing boarding passes before I get to airport.
