I.

Wireless technology can be defined as electronic products and systems that interact by using electromagnetic energy, to carry information between them, so they can communicate with each other. Most wireless technology use radio waves. Mobile technology can be defined as technology used for cellular communication. Mobile phones, GPS navigation devices, tablets, handheld game consoles and laptops all utilize mobile technology.

1. All of the mobile devices available today provide a wide range of mobile commerce opportunities that weren’t available in the past.

2. The spread of worldwide access to wireless connectivity to the Internet through Wi-Fi and telecommunications networks helps fuel those opportunities.

3. Businesses have access to a greater number of customers than in the past. Mobile commerce is the buying or selling of goods and services using a wireless, handheld device such as a cell phone or tablet.

In recent years, DELTA has operated an advice center for wireless product solutions, partly funded by The Danish Council for Research and Innovation’s performance contract funds. The aim is to help companies achieve success with wireless technology in their products. Fortunately, it is possible to draw up some guidelines for a good wireless development project. DELTA has developed “The ABC of wireless product development”, which provides a brief introduction and checklist for the most important problems: the idea stage, requirements specification, testing and test requirements, physical and legal parameters, skills identification, design, implementation, approval, production and launch.
