Presented Scenario: An overseas contractor that is a major supplier to Wendy’s Restaurant has recently been revealed as one that operates with poor working conditions for employees (uses child labor, pays low wages, requires long hours, no benefits, etc.).

Examples of each type of corporate communication:

a) Informational Example: When a new product is launched, the public will know nothing about it. Consider the situation when Apple launched the iPad, a totally new class of technology. In order to generate interest, the company first had to tell people about the product.

b) Educational Example: Once the target audience is aware of the new product, they often need to be educated as to why the product could be useful to them.

c) Persuasive Example: Once a new product has become successful, it is highly likely competitors will have entered the market. Communication therefore needs to persuade the target audience to purchase the version that the corporation provides rather than a competitor’s version.

Corporate Communication aims at providing a suitable and favorable condition for the business through internal and external communication and managing any situation that is creating any issue for the organization. It is one of the most important aspects in a business today because this type of communication helps in gaining knowledge about the environment and condition the organization is going through. Globalization has opened doors for almost all countries in contributing towards the business of a different country and this has led to various process which will ensure proper functioning and by abiding values and ethic of business. The introduction of Supply Chain initially created various issues and that formulated the need for transparency in supply chain management which ensures that the organizations involved in the process has to abide by the law of the United States in this context.

It has been observed that a supplier to Wendy's restaurant operates with poor working conditions for employees which generally includes Child Labor, low pay, forced labor, etc. and the organization has to communicate the issue publicly so that the public relation of the organization is not at all affected. Here the organization should use the Educational Corporate communication because if they consider that the audience is aware of the situation then there is no point forwarding the issue in different way instead Wendy's should confess that one of their vendors have been found violating the basic norms of doing business and they are not at all responsible for such an activity. In order to retain the brand value Wendy's possess they have also planned to terminate the business deal they had with the organization and also will help the legal department and cooperate with them in order to get a fair verdict. The audience and the consumers should feel that Wendy's is innocent here and was not aware of the situation and hence they are terminating the deal.

The monitoring team responsible for monitoring the vendor's working condition needs to be more efficient and continue to do the hard work they have done till now and it is because of their diligent effort, the issue was pointed out and this a non negotiable guideline and will not be entertained at all. Public relation in a business is very much important because the consumers should feel that the business is honest and fair and in order to retain this Wendy's have to take some serious actions which may affect their business initially but will help them in the long run.
