Question
Using the presented scenario, please answer the question. Thanks!
Note to Expert; QUESTION IS POSTED EXACTLY AS IT WAS ASKED. THANK YOU.
Presented Scenario: An overseas contractor that is a major supplier to Wendy’s Restaurant has recently been revealed as one that operates with poor working conditions for employees (uses child labor, pays low wages, requires long hours, no benefits, etc.).
Examples of each type of corporate communication:
a) Informational Example: When a new product is launched, the public will know nothing about it. Consider the situation when Apple launched the iPad, a totally new class of technology. In order to generate interest, the company first had to tell people about the product.
b) Educational Example: Once the target audience is aware of the new product, they often need to be educated as to why the product could be useful to them.
c) Persuasive Example: Once a new product has become successful, it is highly likely competitors will have entered the market. Communication therefore needs to persuade the target audience to purchase the version that the corporation provides rather than a competitor’s version.
For the assignment, the following critical elements must be addressed:
b) Identify the intended target audience for the internal communication; Employees, Investors, and Board of directors. and then explain why they have been selected as the target audience. Provide justification for selecting the identified target audience. c) Develop a draft communication that could be sent to the identified internal target audience addressing this scenario. Ensure that the appropriate tone and message are communicated in your draft communication.
IV. External Communication:
a) Explain the type of external communication and the purpose for the external communication that you have chosen (i.e., informational, educational, and/or persuasive). Answer - The type of communication we have chosen is “information communication”.
The process of selection of communication type is based on the need and type of the communication to be passed to the audience. Since this issue is at oversea contractor may have impact on our customers and other external parties. Hence the heads up to be given to our external parties about the environment. So the team needs only update of the issue and future plan of Wendy’s restaurent’s, so that team is aware of the issue and future plans for managing the issues.
Justification – Since the Wendy Restaurant external parties only needs the information for the issues and future plan of action , so that they are aware of the environment at oversea contractor and associated actions for the same. So we have selected the information type communication for this scenario.
b) Identify the intended target audience for the external communication, and then explain why they have been selected as the target audience. Provide justification for selecting the identified target audience.
Intended target audiences are - Affected customers, legal department of the nation, Board of Directors, Sister Companies etc.
These have been selected as they are directly or indirectlt being affected by this overseas contractors. Hence they needs the heads up for this issue at overseas contractor.
c) Develop a draft communication that could be sent to the identified external target audience addressing this scenario. Ensure that the appropriate tone and message are communicated in your draft communication.
