The File Signature Verification or the FSC is a apart of Windows File Protection’s file checking process. This file is stored in the C drive and carry digital signatures which help the Windows File Protection and the System File Checker in order to verify the files. This FSV can also be used to search for unsigned and signed files present in the machine.
The FSV can be executed by executing Sigverif using the command prompt. If you select the advanced feature of the FSV tool then it can let you search the Win2K system files and even helps in search the unsigned files and also specify the file type to search for folders.
Another feature of the FSV tool is that it will let you to control the log files. It helps in checking the logs and detect problems with any system files. Once the FSV tool identifies the unsigned files, the user has the option to delete them or replace them with a signed one.
