1) A software project development is a part where the software is developed using customer requirements and technologies that the customer or vendor may find suitable for the purpose. After the software has been developed and deployed, over time, the business of the customer also changes. Thus, a project also needs software changes according to the changing requirements. These software changes are analyzed from the customer as system requirements and they are developed into the existing software and after that, the developed and redesigned software is tested for any defects or performance issues and checking of overall functionalities and then is deployed with the changes.

2) The three sides of a software change are:
Change Request - is a formal/official document containing a call for adjustment, thus needing changes to the software developed.
Defect Repair - A software developed which is having some issue, is taken into consideration and to be corrected and thus modified and fixed.
Preventive measures - which are improvements over the already developed project, such as improvement of page load times.
