Question

5. Consider the network in the dashed box at right in which a web server is connected to a router by a 40Mbps link this router is connected to two more routers via 25Mbps links, and a Gbps LAN interconnects a web client and its cache (if enabled) to each of these secondary routers. (a) At what average rate can the server deliver data to a given client if no other clients are making 0 Mbps s Mbps 2s Mtps 25 Mops requests and the client's Web cache is disabled (b) At what average rate can the server deliver data to a given client if no other clients are making re Gbps quests and the client's Web cache is enabled withut an average hit rate of 40%? requests and both caches are enabled with 40% hit rates? rate can the server now deliver data to a given client if clients in all four LANs have made requests (c) At what average rate can the server deliver data to a given client if clients in both LANs have made (d) Suppose that the two LANs outside the dashed box are connected to the server's router. At what average and all four caches are enabled with 40% hit rates?

Explanation / Answer

a) in first question the client will get a speed of 40 Mbps.

As-40/4=10.and the cache is di activate so it takes 0 know so all speed goes to client.but here any other client does not disturbso all 40 mbps speed got the single client.

b) in question no 2 no client doesn't distrb but here the cache got heat about to 40% so cache Tak a speed of - 40*(40/100)=16 mbps from the client.so here client will get a speed of40-16=24 Mbps ..

c) now here 2 clients are active so in second level both client and cache got 20 mbps each together.but here also cache got a speed of 20*(40/100)=8 Mbps,so each client got a speed of 20-8 = 12 Mbps speed.

d) in question no 4 all 4 lans are active so each client got a speed of 10-(10*(40/100))=6 Mbps each.
