3a)Since the time for FP operations is reduced by 20% the new time = 70-70*0.2=56s .

Since the time for FP operation decrease by 14 seconds, total time also decrease by 14 seconds.The new total time is 236 seconds.

% decrease in time =14*100/250 =5.6 %

3b)No

Explanation:-

even if we assume that branch instuction takes 0 seconds. Total time will be reduced by 40 seconds.New total time should be 210 seconds.

Whereas, to reduce Total time by 20% the new total time should be= 250-250-.2=200 seconds which is greater than 210 seconds
