1.Integrity First: Integrity first is the most important core value in professional conduct. We should show integrity in our profession and life and should try to do what is right. We should be honest with strong moral values and always consistent in actions. We should adhere to the organizational policies in professional life.
For example most of the organizations have a policy of not sharing the passwords with anyone and we should not share the pass words in any circumstances. Some people violate the policy by sharing passwords when some data is required by the colleagues or manager from their systems while they are on leave. It is an integrity issue and violation of code of conduct and employee will have to face serious actions if caught as the organizations consider integrity first as the primary core value. In my person experience my colleague tried to share her password with me on a particular occasion, but I refused to do so as I give much importance to integrity first than a piece of information.
2. Service before self: Service before self means the dedication and commitment we show to the organization or the public by making personal sacrifices. We should spend our time and take efforts whenever the situation demands for the success of the organization. For example in my career when our project took more time for completion and the delivery date was nearing, we had to extend our work timings forgetting our personal costs to ensure project delivery on time.
In personal life when I was going to attend an interview I witnessed an accident and took the victim to the hospital without attending the interview. I gave preference to the life of the accident victim than my interview but I am happy that I could save a life.
3. Excellence in all you do: This core value indicates that we should try to perform to the best in professional as well as personal life. We should exhibit high standard in our actions and try to enhance our capabilities throughout life. We should always find new ways to improve our career as well as personal life. Organizations provide enough training and learning opportunities for professionals to excel in their career and employees should make maximum benefit out of these.
In my personal life when there was a conflict among my relatives I was send for negotiation. Instead of finding a temporary solution I tried to find the root cause for conflict and convinced both the parties regarding the reason for conflict and after effects. This helped to avoid any chances of further conflict regarding the same in future. I exhibited high standard in my action by doing more than expected to improve the situation and excelled in my act.
