Musician as Critic: Movie/Musical Critique You have been hired by the Chicago Tribune to write a review of the movie/musical that we watched in class (or that we attended at the theatre). Please TYPE this review using the following form: PART I: PLOT SYNOPSIS Paragraphs 1 and 2 should explain the plot of the movie/musical (what happened). Include the main characters and the actors who portrayed them (look on www.imdb.com for this information if you don't know who the actors were.) PARTI: THEME(S) Paragraph 3 should explore what the movie was really about. What were some of the deeper messages that the movie was trying to portray to the audience? Paragraph 4 should link the movie to one of our Learner's Life values: Commitment, Integrity, Compassion, or Reflection. How does this movie/musical provide a good (or maybe bad) example of this value? PART III: OPINION Paragraph 5 should be where your feelings about the movie come out. What did you like about the movie? What did you NOT like? What would you have changed (if anything)? Remember, you are not being graded on your opinion, but rather your ability to support your opinion with concrete details from the movie.Explanation / Answer
PART I: PLOT SYNOPSIS (HARRY POTTER)
Adaptation of J.K Rowlings children novel about a boy called Harry Potter who learned that his parents were powerful wizards and he also had magical powers. After this realization he left the education school and joined the magical school of Hogwarts where he met which several like headed friends and with the help of them began searching for the mistry of his parents death. In this course he faced several challenged and enemies how tried to destroy everything. How he fights the enemies and how he discovers the truth is the main plot here.
Harry potter has been played by Daniel Radcliff, born1989 , he maid his first TV appeareance at the age of ten in BBC, so acting was not new to him as a child actor. His friends Hermione granger played by Emma Watson, born 1990 is a British actress model did not have any acting experience when she was signed for Harry potter movie. Lastly, ron weasley another friend of Harry Potter played by Rupert Grint born 1988 also did not have any acting experience before this movie.
PART II: THEME
The movie in centralized around a magical world where everyone knows magic. They are called wizards. They sometimes can belong to non- magical families called muggles. They live in disguise in the human world but they can go to their wizard world via magical transportations. The story revolves around three friends who help harry potter find the murderer of his parents and take revenge on them. Apart for the search for the murderer, the movie gives the audience a deeper message. That is love for friend and family. This shows even though these three kids are not realtives they risk their lives for their friends in the sake of search for the truth.
This movie gives us insight about Commitment as these three kids where commited to find the truth and find and destroy the evil at any cost. The movie teaches us the lesson that how weak you maybe but your commitment to perform the task can make you go into very higher levels of desperation and help complete the task you have decided to do.
PART III: OPINION
The scene in the first part of harry potter where we see lord Voldemort kill harry potters parents was emotional. I like the theme they have used to portray the movie. Every thing is magical and so many magical things were shown with awesome graphics. Which kept the audience on edge of their seats.
I did not like how the story ended where Ron weasly married Hermaionie granger and the story went from three kids friendship to adult hood to a love story. Also the movie was stretched too much into various sequels maybe due to revenue which made it boring to watch in the long run.
