DHCP stands for Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol.This protocol is ued to dynamically distribute the Ip address and the IP configuration information to the clients.

1) This packet 1 is called as DHCP discover packet which is sent by the client on the network.This packet is sent by the client to the server to know about its last IP address.It depends on the server whether to accept the request or simply ignore it.

2) This packet is called as DHCP offer packet.The server accepts the request of the client and sends back this DHCP OFFER packet to the client.The source address is ID address of the DHCP server and the destination address is still the braodcast address

3) The reason for using the 0.0.0.0 as the source address in packets 1 and 3 is that both these packets have been sent by the client to the server.The packet 3 is DHCP Request packet which asks the server that whether it can use the IP address offered by the server in the DHCP offer packet.The client is still using the 0.0.0.0 as its address as it is till waiting for the confirmation from the server.
