Their customer service desk receives calls from customers regarding claims. Most customers do not remember their InsurancelD numbers so the customer service rep has to frequently search for the Insurance ID number based on CustomerName and DateofBirth. Most customer calls are also related to their most recent claims (made 3 days to 3 months ago). Therefore a View (called RecentClaims) has been created to help retrieve only the recent claims from a table of several million claim records. The customer service reps very frequently query the View to retrieve recent claim information to help the customers. Describe what actions you can take during database implementation and physical design to best support the above scenarios such that the customer service rep can quickly find the InsurancelD and retrieve recent claims. Q6a: Bob is a new customer service employe Table. Bob's he Customer ent to provideExplanation / Answer
Solution:
Well, in the given case a column with the Recent claim shoulb needs to be created at the time of implementation of the database so that we can track the recent clamis made by the customers.
About getting the onsurance ID the database we can define a composite unique key in the database which will be the pair of customerName and the bithDate, so that each time if we are only fetching the names we can see the birthDate as well which is best to compare and get the insuranceID.
The best way would be to have there phone number as well (since a phone number is unique), so that when there is a need to search for insurance ID simply the phone number needs to be asked from the customer.
I hope this helps if you find any problem. Please comment below. Don't forget to give a thumbs up if you liked it. :)
