Subject - New Employee break rules

Dear Employees,

We understand that the break rules are not one of the favourites of the employee's, but to keep the work at optimum level, rules are a must. When we kept track on the break took by the employees, it helped us to understand the pattern of breaks, which included long breaks and that to non scheduled. This is not working out well and we all need to work towards enhancing the situation.

A new set of rules are going to be implemented starting Monday, November 6, failing to which your salary would be deducted accordingly. If the person is seen missing for long time from his work area, supervisors might not be able to know whether the person had turned up or not, there might be assumption stating that you walked away from the job and this might create problems for others. I know many of you are not going to be happy about the new rules, but failing to adhere them, the person breaking them would be solely responsible for it. Acc to new rules, there would be two 15 mins break in morning and afternoon, plus 30 mins break for lunch, the time would be mutually decided between you and supervisor in advance, no changes would be considered.

I hope this mail clear all the doubts regarding the new policy, please feel free to contact me if there are any concerns.

Best wishes,

Frank Nonymous

Subject: Too bad but we can’t always have what we want – the company has to work

I know that many of you don’t like the break rules and some of you don’t really care (and other people are pretty good), but there are rules for a reason. However, we determined that keeping track of employees while the took breaks at times they determined rather then when we determined the regular breaks was becoming a problem. This isn’t working out very well. In fact, this is becoming a problem determined by the irregular break schedules, or non-schedules, that everyone was having. Being a nice boss, all of you need to determine what the right way to organize this is. The new rules are not going to be optional. If you do not follow the rules. you could be docked from your pay for hours when you turned up missing since your direct supervisor will not be able to determine if you are on “break” or not and will assume that you have walked away from you’re job which will create a big problem for everyone because the schedules will have to be changed and people will not be very very happy. we cannot ever be at all responsible for errors that result rom your inattentiveness to all these new rules. I have already heard many many complaints from some of you and so I hope this email will end this issue once and for all because the decision ahs already been made and that’s been determined as final. Starting on Monday, November 6, you are all immediately required take a regular at least 15 minute break in the morning and again in the afternoon and a regular thirty minute lunch at the times determined by your supervisor in advance NOT when you think you need a break or when you get around to it.

There will be no exceptions to this new rule!

Let me know if you want to discuss this. Let me know if you have questions.

Best wishes,
