It is important for the company to maintain a strong stand against sexual harassment of any kind. There need to be important laws at workplace and HR laws that prohibit any gender discrimination and prohibit sexual harassment.
The conduct of the employees needs to be checked and a healthy environment needs to be maintained at workplace that encourages employees to speak up.
It is important to set clear procedures and rules for the employees. The legal and harsh implications for the behaviour should be communicated effectively to the employees.
The should also be told about the employment harassment policy and it should be included in the employment handbook. Apart from providing a general orientation when am employee enters the company; it is also important to remind them about the policies at workplace. It is also important for the company to train the employees to maintain effective work culture and abstain from any misconduct.
The complaints should be taken seriously and HR department should provide help. Grievance cell can be established and counsellors can also provide help for the employees who wish to talk to someone they can trust.
