Question

After having been denied access to several locker rooms in the course of pursuing her profession, Murphy Blue decides to apply for a job as sports editor for the Moscow-Pullman Times newspaper. Although she has ten years of sports reporting experience for the Washington Post, the Times rejects her and hires Bud Stallins. Bud played high school football, but worked as a gourmet cook until he began working last year as a sports reporter for the Colfax Courier newspaper. The Times has never hired a woman sports editor, although several apparently well-qualified women have applied in the past. The reason the Times gave for rejecting Murphy is that football-playing experience is a required qualification for the job.

Discuss Murphy Blue’s chances of successfully pursuing claims against the Times under the Equal Protection Clause, Title IX, and Title VII.

Explanation / Answer

Because the T.V. station has an opening for evening sports caster and they had to hire a man because the job required covering the local high school football teams and spending time in the locker rooms. But Yvonne is a graduate person with a degree in broadcast journalism and this job is not suitable for Yvonne. If Yvonne was hired for this job then Yvonne will work for some days and when he gets the job of his field then he will leave. that's why he was not hired.
