How should Olaf improve project management in his organization?

If we manage and collaborate among the team members at different locations and time zones, then the problems in the project can be minimized. Team members must know or understand their responsibilities. Meeting deadlines also play an important role to avoid the problems in the project. The client should be involved in our project and able to give early feedbacks.

Project control is ineffective without the accurate time and cost and this inaccurate can make a difference between profit and loss. When we start a project, time and cost estimates are major inputs to project planning. When we estimates that activity only reduces error. When there are no estimates then the time and cost overruns. Estimates are beneficial in different ways cost and time duration and helps in good decisions.

To start with more realistic estimates we have to start with SRS i.e software requirement specification. This SRS includes both functional and non-functional requirement which helps the user to interact with the system. Functional requirements include business requirements and non-functional requirements deals with software operation. There are many benefits of writing SRS which includes the software developers to estimate the effort required to deliver software. In some cases good developers directly convert the requirement to the specific design. This SRS precisely define the vision of the project. A good SRS template includes all the information which is needed in the software.

Olaf can initiate certain ways to improve project management in his organization. The standard should be maintain from the start of each project and this saves time of the project manager as they invest less time in planning things. This makes the task easier for the client to send the status reoprt. Invoicing correctly and on-time is essential to achieve the highest level of project profitability. one simple way to improve the project management in the organisation is to have a tried and tested process. So, whenever that type of project comes that risk are already highlighted and can be handled from the start. So, there are great chance of project success.
