Your paper should provide opinions for both the good things and potential pitfalls for the use of cloud technologies. The result of this exercise is a document that you could provide to a client or present in an FAQ section on your company website. The report should include technical specs including proper references while providing your opinion and preference to technologies, workflows and deployments. Stay away from making this a commercial for your favorite or preferred vendor of choice. The resultant document should be a product/company agnostic white paper to which a client can deduce if cloud technologies are to be explored further with you. At which point, your opinions of preferred vendors, and products could be introduced.

Cloud computing enables us to consume a compute resource, storage or an application, as a utility over the internet. It provides the the availability of high-capacity networks and low-cost computers and storage devices at the same time.

Clouds can be deployed in following forms as per the user/organization's need :

Private cloud : It is accessible from an intranet. It is basically internally hosted, and used by a iternal users in the organization.
Public cloud : It is also accessible from the internet. It is externally hosted, and used by the anyone publically.
Community cloud : It is specific to a community. It has infrastructure accessible to a specific community.
Hybrid cloud : It can be said to be a combination of two or more clouds.

It provides users with the below benefits :
1. Self Service Provisioning : Users can spin up the clusters as per their need and resources required by the workload.
2. Lower Cost : The setup cost and operational cost is lower compared to the traditional infrastructure.
3. Per Usage Payment : Cloud service providers like Amazon charge the users for the time the cluster is active and the size of resources.
4. No requirement of hardware or software maintenance
5. Optimized speed of infrastructure resource access.

Along with the benefits there are some potential risks also :
1. Data Privacy : This is a potential risk. It's huge risk to host highly confidential and sensitive data on the cloud which is managed by the service providers.
2. Sensitive data availability : There are chances that the sensitive data might not be availabile due to maintenance like activity on the service provider site.
3. Immunity to cyber attacks : The cloud might not be fully secured from the cyber attacks which is a threat to this system.
4. Disaster Recovery : Disaster recovery is a challange in case of the disaster as collaborating with the service provider is a challange.

Thus cloud technologies provide the flexible resources for computing but there are some potential risks also to be considered before adopting these.
