I stand with the first option National security comes first although privacy is important but not on the cost of national security. so technology firms should comply with government officials.
Because in this digital era communication , data transfer and sharing is so quick and secure that terrorists use them as barricade to accomplish their tasks which creates a strong threat to national security and if national security is on stake ultimately we all have to suffer one or the other day later or sooner.
So technology firms should first incline their techniques towards nation security because if our boundaries are safe we can survive and live a better life with good and healthy mind which can work in a direction to create privacy measure for the people in the nation. First concern should be national security and after that privacy issues should be addressed and a way out should b found which can balance and address both the issues simultaneously.
Technology firms should align their creative minds in development of such techniques which can help out to act as a bridge between this sought of issue so that no such compulsion in near future would be applied on any organization. National security can not be compromised because one loophole can provide a complete way out to terrorists or anti social elements to accomplish their goals.
Although all business organizations have right to work in autonomy but security measures should be addrssed carefully and should be of utmost priority for the firms because survival of the business also depends on the safe boundaries of the nations.
