The best option to implement the social media policy at workplace is -
To ensure that the employees follow the guidelines of the firm and avoid badmouthing on the social media about the firm and its customers/clients. Though the firm doesn't monitor the social media activity of the employees as such, it does monitor any negative feedbacks or mudslinging activities that they encounter on social media and if the person who does the same happens to be an employee, there would be punitive actions to be taken against the employee depending on the impact of his/her posts on the firm and its image.
By setting the expectations upfront, employees would be bound by the same as they are aware of the repercussions of their behavior and conduct on social media.
