Question

I need answers for those questions please

1- Define unit testing, integration testing, and system testing. What is the difference between a syntax and a logic error? Give an example of each type of error.

2- List and describe the four system changeover methods.Which is generally the most expensive....the most risky? Why?

3- List and describe the 5 pieces of information usually included in the final report to management.

4- List and describe the 4 classifications of maintenance and provide an example of each.Who typically initiate these requests?

5- List 4 indications that an information system is approaching obsolescence.

Explanation / Answer

1) a)
Unit Testing..
--------------------
Unit testing refers to separating code to chunks.. and testing individually..

Integration testing..
-------------------------
Here we group some list of unit chunks and test to integrate them as whole

System testing..
-----------------------
Also known as functional testing.. where testing for particular functional part.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1) b)
syntax error:
--------------
syntax error refers to mistakes done in code level, like missing punctuations, intendation,
braces, not declaring variables etc.. If syntax errors exist then wont compile.

logic errors:-
----------------
These errors are big in program which results in wrong operations and resulting wrong output.

2) Changeover methods
--------------------------
(i) Parallel Changeover:
It is changing information system only if newer version is good and works correctly.

(ii) Direct Changeover Technique:
-----------------------------------
In this technique it overwrites the old system information with new information system.

(iii) Phased technique ..
------------------------------
It will try new system in small scale and then if it works it change total system.

(iv) pilot technique.
----------------------------
Here both new system and old system runs parallely.. at any stage if issue raised, it rollbacks.

Coming to more expensive .. pilot technique is expensive one since it runs parallely two systems.
Risk technique is direct technique since it overwrites entire data.

3)
the five pieces of information that is included in final report is .....
Cover page: About project and main theme of project
Title page: Title of project
Introduction: About company, authors, project details etc..
Results: What are the output, benefits of this project
Materials required.. Requirements needed to run this project. (Recommendations)

4)Maintainance classifications:
--------------------------------------

(i) Corrective Maintainance : It detects of anomaly and aiming the restoring normal operating functoins.
(ii)Preventive Maintainance : It is to reduce the failure risk or performance degradtion
(iii)Risk based Maintainance : This carried out by measurement, periodic test and integrating analysis
(iv)Condition based Maintainance: As per Condition, equipment performance monitoring, the control measures have taken.

5)
Six indications that an information system is approaching obsolscence.
(i) The systems Maintainance history indicate that adaptive and corrective Maintainance in
increasing steadily.
(ii)Operational costs ot execution times are increasing rapidly, and routine perfective Maintainance
does not reverse or slow the trend
(iii)A software package is avaialable that provides the same ot additional services faster , better
and less expensively than the current system
(iv)New technology offers a way to perform the same ot additional function more efficently
(v) Maintainance changes or additions are difficult and expensive to perform
(vi) Users request significant new features to support business Requirements.
