Question
Think of a topology as a network's virtual shape or structure. This shape does not necessarily correspond to the actual physical layout of the devices on the network. For example, the computers on a home LAN may be arranged in a circle in a family room, but it would be highly unlikely to find a ring topology there.
What are the advantages and disadvantages of the processor network topologies? Identify the different applications and environments that are suitable for each physical topology. Is there a relationship between the computer network topologies and processor network topologies? Explain.
Post your primary response. Be sure to review your writing for grammar and spelling before posting.
Explanation / Answer
Processor Network Topology: Processor network topology plays a vital role in case of parellel system. In parellel systems there is a set of path over which one processor communicate with other processor. The communication and the linking bettween the processor refer to the Processor Network topology.
Advantages:
1. Parellel processing is possible
2. Fast processing as we have more that on processor is connected.
3. Quick response time and delay time decreases
4. Parelled computing is based on processor network topology
Disadvantages:
1. Complexity increases due to networked processor.
2. Need to manage the scheduling part as well between processors.
Yes, there is a relationship between computer network topology and the processor netowork topology. Both when work together create a complete system, where in processor as well as in the computer netowork, we are using topology, the helps in communication between various systems in an effective and efficient way
