Explanation / Answer

1.When determining the appropriate hardware components of a new information system, what role must the user of the system play

User plays a vital roles in it. Selection of a appropriate hardware can be done of the bases of following users input:
1. User will provide input of how much he/she is going to user the system, if he/she uses the system more often, then we required a more robust hardware
2. How much memory and data user is going to use, Its also helpful in selecting the hardware.

2. Identify two basic characteristics of RAM and ROM

1. RAM is of volatile type which means we required a constant power supply to retain the information on RAM. When power is lost or its truned off, all the information on RAM will be lost

2. Writting data on RAM is a very fast process, and RAM can store large amount of data.

3. ROM is of the non volatile type. Which means we dont required a constant supply of power to retain information on it.

4. Writting data on ROM is a very slow process, and ROM can store very less amount of data.

4. Identify the three components of the CPU and explain the role of each.

The three components of CPU and its working is given below:

1. ALU(Airthmatic and logical Unit): The airthmatical and logical operations in a computer is performed by this uni.

2. Control Unit: This unit basically controls the instructions fetching from the main memory and control the execution of instructions.

3. Cache Memory: Its on of the fast memeory, The data that required by CPU most is put into tha cache, for fast retrival of the data.

7. Give three examples of recent operating systems.

1. Windows 8.1 operating system. (by microsoft)

2. Macintosh OSX (by apple)

3. Android
