To get started, you must install JDK and NetBeans tools so you can develop your Java programs. Click on the following link: http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/widget/jdk_netbeans.jsp.



Next, you should go through the NetBeans tutorial by clicking on the following link: http://netbeans.org/kb/docs/java/quickstart.html.
