Question
It is NOT NECESSARY to include the text of the question to which you are responding. In fact, it's distracting and frequently aggravating. So, please don't do it. All we want to see is your response to the questions.
Your post should ALWAYS contain an introduction and a conclusion. You wouldn't run a race without stretching first and cooling down afterward, so don't submit a Main Post without an introduction and a conclusion. This includes Main Posts that are answering multiple questions. Your Main Post cannot earn a grade of "A" if you do not have an introduction and a conclusion.
The ideal Main Post will have at least three paragraphs, will be at least 250 words (equivalent to one double-spaced page) and will cite at least one reliable source.
Main Postings:
A. Explain some of the criteria you must use when deciding which modeling tool to use for analyses. Why does it matter? Give specific examples of when each of the three models are best: decision trees, regression analysis, neural networks.
Explanation / Answer
Business Analytics is applied on data to support an organisation in its decision making process. An organisation may have goals it wishes to fulfil within a certain amount of time. Those goals might look like:
1) Increasing the customer base.
2) expanding geographical reach.
3) Acquiring a certain amount of market share, etc.
Now organisations rely on the data they've been generating in their past to decide the steps that they are going to take in the future. Data may also be used to predict the performance of a new product/service or discover patterns that were not apparent.
Let us consider one of those goals mentioned above as our project. A project here is something we wish to accomplish over a certain period of time. Like restoring your father's old bike that is rusting in your garage.
Libraries are the reserves of information you have access to regarding your project. It might be as simple as a user manual instructing owners on how to service their bikes, change oil and clean the air filters , to as complex as a guide on how to tear apart the bike into pieces and put it back together again.
Ofcourse there are going to be diagrams, they make understanding so much easier .They're a perfect way to convey thought. Like the blueprints of the metal parts that are'nt produced anymore and you're gonna have to fabricate them from bare metal.
Carrying out a task is systematic .Consisting of step by step progressions that ultimately take you to your destination. Like you have to disconnect the battery before doing anything to the bike. Like you have to remove the seat to get to the underpinnig machinery. Its a process.
Your project is a graph consisting of nodes. Nodes that mark the completion of sub-tasks and the last node is the last piece of the puzzle. Like all those chrome parts you ordered to give the bike that extra bit of zing. They go in when everything else is done and we are trying to enhance the aesthetic appeal.
I took up a project. I planned my work through available information.I followed a process and I got to the result. Much like historical data is analysed to aid the decision making process of the managerial community in an organisation.
