And around 21.5 million people have an excess to the internet which is a great number for any brand who is planning for a marketing strategy via social media. The trend of world is that almost every one has an online profile in one or other portal. be it Twitter, Skype, Facebook, Instagram, Whatz app etc and South Africans are not different. Mostly people have a tendency to ignore the online advertisements but undoubtly these adda have an impact on us in one or the other way. A study shows that about 92% retail brands in South Africa are using Facebook and Twitter and soon a day will come when it will reach to 100%. And these brands states that there will be an increase of 52% of the total increase in ad spending during the next five years as a part of their plans ahead.

Thanks to the smartphones as now we can have an access to internet on our little device which means any person living in any corner of South Africa can simply search on their mobile about particular retail brand and order from there. Retailers understand this trend so they are planning to match the rich dividends that are up for grabs. This is the reason because of 53% more YouTube users and 65% more Instagram users over past one year.

Display advertising, Physical event etc. costs reduced now because of social media advertisiments. Brand Hyundai keep on changing the website page of their website when ever a new car launched and advertisement runs on TV and on social media. Other brands also making new plans to take full use of social media as a marketing tools. New job positions like SEO Specialist, Content manager, Social Media Specialist and Social Media Community Manager came into eistence due to this growing trend.
