Question
My team lacked expertise and good governance system.
Again, in some cases the HR professionals in organization tend to lack the expertise needed to carry out their primary role of information and mediation between the employee-employer relations. The human capital is an important part for success of an organization competing in the marketplace; as a result, proper mediation will help to boost employees’ morale. Consequently, the employee-employer relationship suffers when the custodians of right information in employee-employer relations have nothing to offer. In order to manage a virtual team and create an organizational culture that will not create boundary amongst team there is need for effective and efficient organizational governance system l. I pointed out this barrier to the team success and suggested the need for a mechanism of decision-making to be effective in organizations; which is vital in team management context because the approval and management of depends on who makes the decision about the team and who has input-rights for the different tasks. The organizational culture will expose interacting antecedents: corporate vision, corporate strategy, overall firm structure, culture, it will also expose the satisfaction with management of the team, The corporate governance spans the entire life cycle of the team.. For example, shared leadership by the team will promote strategic planning and execution using benefits realization of project efficiency, stakeholder satisfaction and future potential.[1] Organizational “governance provides the approaches, authorities, accountabilities and processes to define the objectives of organizations/ projects, provide the means to achieve those objectives, and control progress.”[2] Therefore, The organizational governance culture is relevant in terms of project management implementation and success.
On the other hand, the place of effective and efficient organizational value in regards to any project is paramount. The culture is “the founding characteristics imprinted at the birth of an organization influence its subsequent behavior”[3] The organizational culture reflects in espoused values and believes that define what is important and what ought to be done in an organization., e.g. strategies, goals, or philosophies. The lack of focus effective organizational culture evidence in the team management becomes a boundary in the team’s interpretation and application of these values. Values are core constituents of organizational culture, the organizational culture becomes a combination of competing values: change and stability. While change focuses on flexibility and stability; stability will focus on control, continuity and order. Therefore team management navigates the inherent tensions of the organization’s values and governance.
My strategy to overcome the boundary created by the present organization culture and governance is to from strong team ties. The teams' social culture is the social ties between project teams and their intra-organizational colleagues can help to overcome internal conflicts that stall project success. Social interaction ties among project team members in the team-based organization help to bridge gaps that frustrates success. Strong ties, due to team closeness and intimacy, make it more likely for project team members to meet on a private basis with their colleagues outside the work setting, which likely to create motivation to learn across team boundaries, and to assist each other and share knowledge.
