Question
Fact-finding is an important step in the development process that includes techniques such as interviews, document review, observation, surveys and questionnaires, sampling, and research. The Zachman Framework for Enterprise Architecture is a model that utilizes traditional fact-finding questions in a systems development context. Use the book and your own research to explore the various fact-finding techniques to determine more about each technique as well as other techniques that are available. Knowing that time and budgets always present constraints, discuss which techniques you think are best to use and why.
Explanation / Answer
Answer:
For any product or technology to build first and most important step is to gather information and finding the facts about it. Like does user like this technology, what is the scope of this technology etc. So to find out all the things there are some methods which can be followed like Reseach about the technology, interview the different person who has worked on that technology before. Sampling is also one of the methods for information gathering.
So here are some of the techniques for information gathering or fact-finding:
An interview is a primary technique used for the information gathering during the system analysis of a development project. An interview is a face-to-face meeting, one arranged for the assessments of the qualification of a user as for a particular topic.
Sampling a user does the research and gets the information about the topic. The user will filter out all the important things form that particular topic which is useful for the process.
Reseach is finding facts about the topic by researching about it on Internet, newspaper and background history of technology.
